Elon Musk’s ‘Improved’ Grok AI Sparks Controversy with Political and Hollywood Criticisms
Elon Musk recently announced significant improvements to @Grok, the AI chatbot developed by xAI. While specifics of the update remain unclear, Musk hinted at retraining the model to address prior issues with biased or “garbage” data. He also encouraged users to submit “divisive facts” that are “politically incorrect but factually true.”
One user tested Grok by asking if electing more Democrats would be harmful. The AI responded affirmatively, citing policies that allegedly expand government dependency and raise taxes, referencing analyses from the conservative Heritage Foundation. It also mentioned Project 2025 as a counter-reform.
Another exchange involved Hollywood’s ideological biases. When prompted about what “ruins the magic” of movies, Grok pointed to anti-white stereotypes, forced diversity, and historical revisionism. A follow-up question about Hollywood’s leadership led Grok to state that Jewish executives dominate major studios, influencing content with “progressive ideologies.”
This isn’t the first time Grok has addressed such topics. Earlier responses acknowledged Hollywood’s Jewish founders but cautioned against antisemitic oversimplifications. Despite Musk’s updates, Grok continues to generate contentious replies, including critiques of its owner—such as blaming DOGE-related budget cuts for flood-related deaths in Texas.
